Jocelyn brushed aside a stray piece of hair as she looked up at the door to the lab she was heading towards. So she was actually going to start her own Pokemon journey after hearing about the adventures of others in books for so long; her eyes glimmered with excitement as she swung herself over a log in the path. Jocelyn simply hoped that the Professor wouldn't be too freaked out by her new appearance to let her have a Pokemon; although the travelers she'd met in the woods didn't seem to be surprised that she was a Houndour Pokemorph, Jocelyn still wasn't entirely sure about where most people stood on the issue. As she neared the door, Jocelyn figured that she might as well find out. Politely knocking on the door, Jocelyn neatly folded her hands and waited for the door to open.

"Give me a minute!" Professor Ash yelled from inside, followed by mumbling and the sound of rustling paper. The door opened only seconds later, but not by the professor - standing on a table on one side of the door was his first pokemon, Pikachu. "Ah, thank you pikachu... come in, come in, I'll be with you in a second." He said all this from underneath his desk, though it was unclear what he was doing down there.

Jocelyn blinked a couple times as the door opened to reveal none other than a Pikachu sitting on a table, who had apparently opened the door for her.
"Um, all right," the girl responded awkwardly, stepping inside and closing the door most of the way so as not to let any cold air in.
Her eyes flickered around the room as she waited for the Professor to finish whatever it was that he was doing under that desk. The place appeared to be pretty clean and organized besides the papers scattered in a seemingly arbitrary manner across the desk surface. Feeling as though she'd looked around enough, the Houndour girl looked back to see if the Professor was done yet.

It wasn't long before the professor emerged from beneath the desk, clutching several mistreated stacks of paper to his chest. As he got up, he put them on the table, careful not to knock down anything else in the process, and glanced at Jocelyn. "You want a pokemon, right? That's the only reason people ever come... and it is my job." He wandered over to the shelves behind his desk, which were labeled alphabetically. Joeclyn's fears had obviously been misplaced: If the professor was at all phased by the girl's houndour features, he didn't show it. In fact, he didn't even seem to notice.
