RB stopped wildly running when she realized it wasn't going to be very helpful. She got out her map, and was amazed to see that the lava-river thingamabob was actually running right alongside Rout Two! Well, at least that stupid thing was useful for one thing. Who knows? Maybe Perky's path had cut off a bit of the distance. Then again, maybe not. RB shrugged and briskly walked along.

In the magma part of the river, was a Furchie, a Charmander, and a Magby. In the water part of the river was a Squirtle, a Totodile, and a Piplup. None seemed to notice RB.

RB would have liked to stop and talk to the Pokemon, especially the Totodile. For some reason she really liked Totodiles, but she was in a hurry to take Perky from the PC like she had promised. RB picked up the pace just a little bit.

The Pokemon slowly faded away. The Charmander picked up its head and started to realise what was happening. It ran towards RB and used Flamethrower right in fron of her. It said, ~No trainer passes here without beating one of us.~

"Why?!" RB yelled, but when she noticing the Charmander glaring at her she decided it would be smarter to just go along with it. She tossed a ball out, yelling, "Go, Seaweed!" The Waileaf popped out grinning, for some unknown reason. "Use Water Pulse!" RB ordered.

The Mudkip jumped in front of the Charmander, taking the damage. It winced in pain as the Charmander said, ~First you need to pick one of us to fight.~

Hmm. Well, considering the Mudkip had already taken some damage, Seaweed resisted water attacks very well, and did have some decent grass moves, too... "We'll fight Mudkip. Let's get this over fast, I'm in a hurry. Seaweed, use Energy Ball!" Seaweed grinned again (he is kind of weird that way) as he used the move.

The mudkip flipped over the energy ball and shot forwards to land a take down attack in one motion, gracefully, quick yet seemingly in slow motion. Very ninja-like...

((Post 100 for me. We should celebrate.))
Well, now, this was impressive. RB would have to use some more strategy. "Seaweed, use Leech Seed!" she yelled.

The mudkip sidestepped the leech seed attack, and used a mud slap on it's foe. This 'mon was certainly very fast and skilled, a good match even with it's type being a disadvantage.

Well, at least the mud slap didn't do too much damage. Of course, the accuracy loss was not exactly favorable! RB didn't want that to happen again. "Mist! Use mist, Seaweed!"

The mudkip blinked frantically, trying to see properly through the mist. Giving up, it just shot a roughly aimed water gun.

"YES!! Finally!" RB cheered. Seaweed laughed happily, too, as Water Absorb restored some HP. ((Do you remember me saying that I decided the ability for waileaf and leviafrond should be water absorb? It was some time ago and only on the chat box thing...)) "Now, use Razor Leaf!"

(( Fine with me ))
Lost in thought as to why the attack didn't work as expected, the mudkip was hit. Wholly annoyed, it ran at the foe in a take down.

"Wait for it..." RB called as the mudkip ran closer and closer to Seaweed. "Wait... now! Use energy ball now!" Seaweed used energy ball as the mudkip came into contact with him.

The energy ball hit the squirtle point blank, and cut down half his hp. Added to previous wounds and the recoil of take down, he wasn't feeling so good. While the 'kip was still close, it used another take down. It was one of the few attacks it had that had any decent effect against grass types.

RB tried to think fast. This mudkip was good at dodging and Seaweed's accuracy had been lowered. It was a shame Seaweed didn't know an attack that never missed, like Magical Leaf. Another thought came to her, and she suddenly realized that mist was useful. Very useful, indeed. "Seaweed!" she called calmly. "Wait until the mudkip is almost on you and use leaf storm!"

The mudkip was blown back before it even hit Seaweed, and fell flat at a couple hitpoints. It didn't even bother to get back up. While the 'kip was brilliant at handling real contact attacks, storms and mist and such were his bane. He had very sensitive eyes, and also didn't know where an attack like this was coming from... how could he block it?

Okay, obviously even a fairly weak attack would be enough to win, and Seaweed had plenty of power at his disposal. RB started to order an energy ball when Seaweed cried out, ~Don't you think the poor mudkip has had enough? I think so, do we really have to hurt him any more?~ Surprised, RB stopped and thought. Hmm, maybe Seaweed was right, but would the charmander and mudkip let them through if they didn't finish?

Seemingly reading her mind, the charmander said, ~This is enough. You may pass~

"Thank you!" RB squeaked. "Return, Seaweed!" she called as she held up the pokeball. The charmander stepped aside, and RB walked past. Suddenly, she turned around and asked, "Uh, how much farther do I have to go?"

~Just follow the river. This route isn't all that long...~ The charmander said, helping the nearly KO'd mudkip stagger over to the others and giving it a berry.

"Thanks!" RB yelled. She started again, jogging along the river. She briefly wondered if Blazer would have liked to meet this charmander, but she quickly forgot about it.

There were no pokemon as of yet to stop her from going on. She could see the village, and was almost there, when a pyrokit wandered past.

The pyrokit didn't appear to have noticed RB, so she just kept going. She just HAD to get to the pokemon center and take Perky out. She realized that she wanted to let her new friend out of the ball and have a nice chat...

Nothing else tried to stop her; she could continue to the village if she wished.

And so, that is exactly what RB did.
((Yay! So now I can make a new thread?))
