Anyone play chess? I had this interesting idea for a forum game, but I'm not sure if it will work well here. But it doesn't hurt to try, eh?
It's a form of online chess. Since two people trading moves would be boring, I've decided to make the players into teams. I'll captain the Black team, so whoever wants to post first gets to move first (and become captain of the White team). To make a move, simply state the piece you want to move and then the space you want it to move to. If something other than movement occurs (capturing, castling, queening, check/checkmate, etc.) please also state what is happening.
Anyone can join any team at any time. Join a team by posting a move for the first time when it is your desired team's turn. Also note, once someone has made a move and posted it, they cannot take it back. If you need to, discuss OOC strategies with your teammates before deciding on a move.
Here's how we'll keep track of the board positions: Update this with every move. All you have to do is copy and paste, then make appropriate changes.
Key:
. = placeholder
[] = empty space
B_ = Black piece
W_ = White piece
_R = Rook
_N = Knight
_B = Bishop
_Q = Queen
_K = King
_P = Pawn
A-H = column #
1-8 = row #
EXAMPLE: White wants to move his 6th pawn by 2 spaces to F5.
White posts: Pawn F moves to F5.
Then White copies the board and updates it like so: (remember to include the code tags)
I hope I didn't make it too complicated...Well, as soon as someone posts their first move as White, the game shall begin!
