Jennifer was walking with her head down, causing Gem, who was on top of Jennifer's head, to have to hold on to keep from falling. The reason Jennifer's head was down was because she was looking at the Tynri Map. "Next up Gem..." Jennifer's voice faulted and she frowned a bit. She hadn't said a single thing since she left Volt City and talking felt a little strange. Thats what silence does to you, not that it's any real problem to Jennifer...rather, more of a good thing to her. "Next up..." She started again. "We must go into Shard Cave."
When Jennifer looked up, it just so happened that she was there already, standing at the entrance. 'Looks like any other cave...despite the name.' She thought quietly. But it was still the first cave she'd enter since she arrived in the region. She walked in, ready to do combat with the various amounts of Zubats, Geodudes and others she was sure she'd encounter.
Little did her and Gem know that there were shiny things in there. Both trainer and Pokemon have a love for shiny things...it should be a rather interesting trip inside this cave.

A big gem was lodged into the cave wall pretty tightly. It was sky blue, and it appeared to have a bright aura in the dark cave. White splotches gave it the look of clouds in the sky. Suddenly, small rocks were flying everywhere.
A small growl was heard, and more rocks went flying. Something was trying to get to that gem, and was trying even harder now that it sensed Jennifer. Piercing red eyes appeared, much larger than any ordinary Pokemon set of eyes. A mouth also came along, so create a very frightening face. The thing that was trying to get to the gem was trying to scare off Jennifer and Gem with a Scary Face attack.

Jennifer couldn't see much as it was, so she kept a fairly slow pace, as to try and not trip over anything. But then she could see something...a light of some sort. It was the glowing aura of...a gem!? Jennifer's eyes widened slightly at the sight of it. Sky blue with white spots...like the gem was colored with clouds...it was beautiful. Of course, then something else not so pretty appeared.
"Urgh..." Jennifer gasped quietly, as she was nearly taken off guard by the Scary Face attack. She manged to keep from stumbling back and stood her ground, staring blankly at the huge red eyes with her own emerald eyes. This deathly calm girl wasn't to be scared so easily.
Gem, her Skitty, meanwhile had already jumped off of Jennifer's head and was running toward the shiny gem in the wall.

~Bagon!~ The Bagon jumped in front of the gem. It appeared to like the sky-ish look of the gem, after dreaming all day about being a Salamence and flying through the air. It's right paw had an awkward glow to it. Almost like fire, but not quite. It was purple mixed with red, and the paw seemed to get a bit larger, perhaps just an illusion of the cave. In a split second, it lunged forward and released its Dragon Claw unto Gem. That Bagon seemed ready to guard the gem with its life.

Jennifer's eyes widened slightly, taking in the image of the Bagon. 'A Bagon...? Jennifer reached into her backpack and got out her Pokedex.
Bagon: Dreaming of one day flying, it practices by leaping off of cliffs everyday.
'Quite determined, I see.' Jennifer thought, looking up at the battle scene that was about to unfold between Gem and the Bagon. Gem got hit by the Dragon Claw attack and skidded backwards. 'Currently, I am purely a treasure hunter and not a thief. The Bagon was here first...he can have the gem. But...lets see how Gem does against a Dragon-type before we take our leave. ' Jennifer thought, calmly. "Gem, Bagons are of the Dragon-type. Dragon-type pokemon are among the most feared types...do your best." She told her Skitty, with a slight smile.
"Neh!" Gem mewed with a nod. "Now...Covet." Jennifer quietly commanded. Gem shot a flurrie of little pink hearts at the Bagon.

The hearts surround the Bagon and knocked it off its feet. Something small and blue fell onto the ground with a clank. Jennifer Obtained:x1 Dragon Scale The Bagon growled deeply, and opened its jaws as wide as they could go. It ran towards Gem and snapped its jaws shut with a Crunch attack.

"A Dragon Scale? Great!" Jennifer said with a small smile, as she put the item into her backpack. Then it was time to focus on the battle again.
Gem got hit by the Crunch attack and nearly fell down. "Hang in there Gem. Now, use your Sing attack." Jennifer said. Gem stepped forward and started to use her Sing attack, hoping to have the Bagon go to sleep.

The Bagon fell asleep instantly, but even as it fell to the ground with a large thump, it started to stir instantly. It appeared to want the gem so badly, that its energy got a big boost. You should probably attack it now while its asleep, it didn't appear to be asleep for more than two of Gem's attacks.

"Gem, the time is now. Use Take Down." Jennifer said. Gem backed up and then ran at the Bagon. She hurled herself at the Dragon Pokemon, using her Take Down attack.

The Bagon stirred in its sleep and was hit by the Take Down. It woke abruptly and snorted. It lowered its head, then pawed the ground. It ran forward in Gem's path, gaining speed quickly. Its Headbutt attack seemed to be what had sent all those rocks flying, and with a rock hard head like that, it looks like an extremely hard collision.

"Gem, try and dodge. Quickly now please." Jennifer said. Gem jumped back and out of the way of the Headbutt attack, just in time. That could have been really bad if it had hit. "Now, use Double-Slap. " Jennifer calmly commanded. Gem lunged forward, ready to strike Bagon with the attack.

The Bagon lifted its right hind leg and pawed the ground. It snorted and growled, not very pleased at all. The Pokemon lowered its head once more, and used a Headbutt attack again right into Gem's Doubleslap.

'They will collide...' Jennifer thought, narrowing her eyes slightly in worry. Would Gem be thrown back? "Do your best. Full power." Jennifer told Gem with a nod.
"Naaaaahhhh!" Gem meowed, determined. She collided with the Bagon, head on, using Double-Slap against his Headbutt. However, even though Gem had heart, when she crashed into the Bagon's hard head, she flew back. "Good effort Gem. Now use Assist." Jennifer said. Gem used Assist...and the attack came out to be Ember, no doubt from Jennifer's Furchie. Gem shot the Ember attack at the Bagon.

The Bagon shook off the attack with apparent ease. Nothing seemed to have much of a chance against its rock-hard head. The Bagon backed away after being hit by the Ember attack. It began to ignore Gem and continued to claw at the wall where the sky-like gem was.

Jennifer frowned slightly at seeing Gem now being ignored by the Bagon. 'Well, I cannot make the Pokemon fight, now can I?' She thought, over all unaffected by the Bagon's decision. Gem, however, was not a happy kitty. She certainly did not light being ignored. "NEH! SKITTY!" Gem growled at the Bagon, and seemed to be using another Assist attack. "Gem, why are you..." Before Jennifer could finish her sentence, Gem finished her attack.
Gem jumped forward and fired the Assist attack. The attack came out as Powder Snow from Rini. The Skitty smiled. That would be sure to get the Dragon type's attention. Jennifer sighed. Gem was really starting to ask for it.

The Bagon was hit full blast. Snow covered it completely. The Pokemon opened its eyes, then shoveled out a hole in the snow to see through. Its eyes were red, and the snow was ablaze. In an attempt to get out, the Bagon had used Ember. The Pokemon was shivering, and it looked furious.
A snort came from the Bagon as it pawed the ground in a Tauros-like fashion. The Bagon stepped back, then sprang forth. It pulled its arm back, then slapped it towards Gem, using the Double-Slap attack.

Gem gasped, getting thrown back into a wall by the Bagon's Double-Slap attack. Jennifer watched as Gem slowly got up. The little pink kitten Pokemon couldn't take much more of this. "Gem, we need to rap this up soon..." Jennifer said quietly. "Go and use your Covet again."
Gem shot many little pink hearts at the Bagon.

The Bagon was too late to escape the attack. Although its ability prevented it from taking any recoil damage, the strong attack still wore it out. The Covet didn't do too much damage, but the Bagon was too weak.
~Bagon...~
The Pokemon did not faint, but it couldn't afford to use any more attacks. It walked slowly back to the gem in the wall and started scratching at it furiously.

Gem wiggled and got down into a stalking position. She was about to use Pound as the final attack, before Jennifer stopped her. "Gem. Stop. We've won." She said calmly. "Meow?" Gem asked, sitting up and looking at Jennifer. Jennifer picked Gem up and walked silently over to the Bagon, knowing that it couldn't use another attack.
She stood behind the Bagon and looked closely at what it was scratching at. Exactly what kind of gem stone was that, if, of course, it was a gem stone?

The gem finally came loose. The Bagon picked it up in its mouth happily. then turned to face Jennifer. Now that it got what it wanted, it seemed be in a much lighter mood. Once the Pokemon face Gem, though, it snorted again. The Pokemon circled the pair once before starting to walk off.

Jennifer giggled to herself lightly, noting the happy mood the Bagon seemed to in now. She would be too, if she had found a jewel like that.
Gem, who was still in Jennifer's arms, meowed sharply at the Bagon once it looked at her, issuing a challenge. Jennifer, however, merely shook her head and turned to walk off. "We don't need to keep fighting that Bagon. Lets see what else is in this pretty little cave..." Jennifer whispered smoothly to her Skitty. The two continued down the cave path.

The Bagon looked back. That was quite strange... Usually trainers would try to catch it. The Pokemon seemed quite angry; it always loved the attention. The Bagon slowly walked back to Jennifer and Gem. It gave a small snort, trying to catch their attention but at the same time make it so it didn't look like it was doing it to grab attention.

"Hm?" Jennifer mumbled to herself and looked back, down at the Bagon. "...You don't still want to battle, do you? I don't think you could pull off another attack..." She asked the Dragon type Pokemon. Gem smirked at the Bagon. If it wanted to fight, she was ready...after all, it was weakened from fighting her earlier. Jennifer turned around completely to face the Bagon now, waiting for it's answer. It did have her full attention, at least.

The Bagon turned to Gem sharply at her smirk. It gave a hiss, then shook its head. It thought to itself, ~Of course I don't want to fight, I don't have an ounce of energy left in me! Why must trainers make things so complicated?~
The Bagon looked up at Jennifer and shook its head. It puffed out its chest in hopes of Jennifer thinking it was strong at wanting to try to catch it, then started to walk away. ~Entertainment is so hard to get these days...~

Jennifer tilted her head to side, as though she didn't understand. Then when the Bagon started to turn and walk away, she smiled to herself. She quietly got a pokeball out from her backpack, but held it for a second. Let the Dragon-type get a headstart.
'...One...two...three!' Jennifer counted down in her head. Then she threw the pokeball at the Bagon.

The Bagon turned around as the Pokeball headed towards him. He smirked and figured he could get out of the pokeball without much effort. The Pokemon was absorbed in it. The Pokeball shook once...twice... the Pokeball started to vibrate, but then gave a faint ding!
Bagon was Caught!

"Oh my gosh..." Jennifer said, letting out a sigh of relief. She picked up the pokeball. "A Dragon Pokemon..." She mumbled. Jennifer has much respect for Dragon types...after all, their type is the closest type to the legendary Pokemon and almost just as rare.
'What to name him, what to name him...' Jennifer thought quietly. "Unless I think of anything better...you shall be Jagger." Jennifer said, apparently talking to the pokeball that the Bagon was in. "Come, Gem." She said to her Skitty, putting the pokeball into her backpack and swiftly continuing on.

The gem that Jagger was holding was laying on the floor of the cave. It reflected the small amount of light that was in the cave, and shone brightly. A flock of Zubat flew overhead, seemingly attracted to something else that was bright a deeper in the cave.

"Neh! Meow? Skitty!" Gem was squirming around in Jennifer's arms. "What is it?" Jennifer asked, putting Gem down onto the cave floor. Of course, the eager little Skitty never answered. She ran over to the jewel that Jagger dropped and then ran back with it in her mouth. "Oh...how could I have forgotten that?" Jennifer asked herself, picking up the sky blue jewel that Gem had presented her with. She put it away, thinking 'Later, I'll probably make a chain bracelet or anklet that Jagger can wear out of that jewel. Since it's really his.'
Then, both trainer and Pokemon saw the numerous amounts of Zubats flying over their heads. "Neh?" Gem meowed in confusion. Jennifer shrugged and ran after them, wanting to see where the Pokemon were headed.

There were three gems lodged into the cave wall. The Zubat landed among them. Some soon lost interest and flew away, leaving just two Zubat left.
One gem in the wall was blood-red. It was gleamed more than any of the other gems. There seemed to be a swirling movement on it, but that could just be a trick of the eye's.
The second gem was a jade-green. It wasn't smooth like the other gems, but had a jagged surface. A Zubat was pecking at it eagerly.
The last gem was a bright, sun-like yellow. It was the smallest of the gems, yet had such an invaluable look to it.
