Jennifer got there, just as all the other Zubats were flying away, except for two. She nearly gasped at what she saw next. There in the cave wall were three different colored jewels. She stepped back, trying to identify them. The first one was red, and played tricks on the eyes...hypnotizing. 'Bloodstone?' Was Jennifer's guess. Then she looked at the rough green stone that a Zubat was picking at. 'Jade, perhaps?' Then she looked at the smallest, brightest sun yellow jewel. 'That one is kinda tricky...maybe Topaz?' She thought.
Jennifer stared at the two Zubats thoughtfully. They seemed to really want the green and yellow jewels. "Maybe I can help them...somehow..." Jennifer mumbled to herself. But how could she get those jewels out of the wall? "Gem, look around for anything that might help us get those jewels out of the wall." Jennifer told her Skitty.

Nothing else seemed to be around. But there was a sharp, pointed rock a while away. A shadow seemed to be moving ontop of it, though. One Zubat called out, and flapped its wings frantically. The green gem hat sliced its wing, showing a small line that was a bright red, almost the exact same color as the red gem.

Gem looked around frantically for something to help pry the jewels out of the cave walls. She remembered seeing a pointed rock a little ways back...but could she get it from there, to here? Gem ran back for the rock, to find out.
Meanwhile, Jennifer saw that one of the Zubats had cut it's wing on the green jewel. "Oh no..." She mumbled, worried. She looked through her backpack for anything that might be helpful. The Zubat didn't seem to be in a bad enough condition for a Potion, she decided that she should probably just wipe the cut with a piece of cloth. Jennifer looked up at the injured Zubat, not sure if it would listen to her or not. "...Excuse me. Please, come here. I'll help you..." She said, raising her voice slightly to be heard.

The Zubat glared at Jennifer. It didn't seem to want any help from a trainer. It flew up in the air unsteadily, then used Confuse Ray on Jennifer.
A ray of light emitted from the Pokemon's mouth, heading straight towards Jennifer.

"..." Jennifer didn't say anything. She just looked up, staring right at the Confuse Ray that the Zubat sent towards her. The simple word 'Dodge' came to mind. Jennifer jumped to the side, just as the attack was about to hit her.
Now what was she going to do? This Zubat didn't want her help and maybe the other one wouldn't either...
Meanwhile, Gem was a little ways away, trying to pull a sharp, pointed rock, out from the other two rocks it was wedged between in a small pile of rocks. "Neeh...neehh...NEH!" Gem grumbled, pulling as hard as she could at the rock. Well...It did come out...rather, it flipped out and landed on Gem's tail. "Mew...meow...skitty!" Gem meowed very, very loudly, in pain.
The meow could be heard all throughout the cave. Even Jennifer heard it. 'Oh dear...I bet that rock fell on Gem's tail...' Jennifer thought, an Anime sweatdrop forming on her head. This was starting to turn into a disaster.

For a second the cave was eerily quiet. Until...
~ROOOARRR! Who disturbed my rest!?~
A Graveler walked in front of Gem and Jennifer. It jumped up and down, using the attack Magnitude.
Magnitude 6!
The ground shook like a mild earthquake, sending the the uninjured Zubat flying away, while the one with an injured wing was tossed up and down mercilessly.

Both Jennifer and Gem looked up to see a very angry looking Graveler. Gem ran over to Jennifer, ready to defend her, but then the big rock Pokemon used Magnitude 6.
Gem fell to down instantly and Jennifer fell to her knees, just trying not to fall over completely. She looked up to see the injured Zubat get tossed around like a ragdoll from the attack. "S-stop, please...your h-hurting the Zubats..." Jennifer tried her best to tell the Graveler, though the mini earthquake's vibration it created was making it hard for her to talk without nearly biting her tongue.

The Graveler was too angry at Gem and Jennifer to listen to them, let alone stop rampaging. Rocks lifted off of the ground and swirled around the Graveler. Suddenly they stopped and flew right at Gem, Jennifer, and the Zubat in a Rock Throw attack. The Zubat was hit directly in the chest and was caught under the rock.

"Gem!" Jennifer said, though not yelling, raising her voice only slightly. The Skitty got hit by one of the rocks and tossed against the wall. Jennifer looked over to see the injured Zubat from earlier get caught under the rock that was thrown at it. Jennifer then stood up, now wanting to stop this, only to see a rock now flying in her direction. There was nothing else Jennifer could do in time, but cross her arms into an X-shaped block and protect her head.
Jennifer skidded back and into the wall, but her head was undamaged, though she sustained some rips in her gloves and some nasty looking bruises underneath. She'd have to change into some new gloves later. "Urgh..." Jennifer mumbled softly to herself, looking down at her arms, thankful they weren't broken. "This stops now..." She whispered, taking out her Meowkip's pokeball. "Wave, Water-Gun on the Graveler." She said as calmly as possible as she released the Pokemon.
"Meowkip!" Wave growled cheerfully, more then happy to battle. He shot off a Water-Gun attack at the Graveler.

The Graveler got blasted backwards, but this only angered her more. She shook off the pain, then jumped up and down. The ground shook, and the cave seemed to groan in protest. The Graveler continued to use Earthquake, trying to release her anger onto Diamond, Gem, and the Zubat.
Lucky for the Zubat, the Earthquake had no effect on it because it was able to use most of its stregnth that was left to float a few centimeters off the ground.

Jennifer could tell that the Graveler was going to release yet another Earthquake attack. "Brace yourself..." Jennifer told Gem with a nod. Her Skitty nodded and tried to keep it's footing as the Earthquake started once again. Jennifer looked at the Zubat. It was flying...the Earthquake would not cause it further harm. Thank goodness... Once the ground started shaking, Jennifer clung to the cave wall. It was all she could do to keep on her feet. '...Keep calm, Jennifer...it's going to be okay...' She thought to herself, shutting her eyes tightly as she clung to the wall. It breifly occured to her that this was great training, not only for Wave, but for her too. She'd probably be able to keep her calm even better then before after this.
Jennifer opened her eyes and saw Wave, down on one knee, trying not to fall over. "W-wave, use your Whirlpool. Trap the Graveler in it...these Earthquakes need to stop." Jennifer told her Meowkip. "Meow! Merow!" Wave growled. He launched the swirling water attack at the Graveler, hoping to trap it within the Whirlpool.

The Graveler was far too angry to think about what damage her attacks might do to her, so she used Explosion. In a sudden burst, a strong force hit everything in the area. Rocks fell down from the cave walls from the power, releasing the three gems. The Graveler fell down and fainted.
The Zubat gave out a large screech. It was slammed in a wall, then buried by the rocks.

Jennifer watched on in slight horror as the Graveler started to use Explosion. "Oh...no..." Jennifer mumbled quietly to herself. "Wave, Gem, return now!" She got out her two Pokemon's pokeballs and returned the Meowkip and Skitty before they could get hurt. Just as the two were sent back into their pokeballs, Graveler's Explosion attack was released completely.
Jennifer could see those three gems from before, released from the cave's wall. But that was hardly on her mind now. 'Zubat.' Was the only thought she had at the moment. She looked around, trying to see through all the rocks that were falling from the cave walls. Then she saw Zubat, the poor Pokemon was flung against the wall and buried under some rocks. "N-no..." Jennifer whispered to herself. She darted towards the pile, dodging all the rocks coming down upon her. When she got there, she only managed to remove one rock before she heard a crack. Jennifer looked up to see the last rocks falling, She then clung to the rock pile, hoping she wouldn't be knocked unconscious. A few minutes later, it was over...
Jennifer was breathing heavily, her arms and legs now covered in bruises and bright red scatches...one or two was even bleeding a little. But at least she was consious...and alive. Jennifer looked down at the rock pile she was still clinging to. Her Pokemon would have to get Zubat out, cause she currently wasn't up to it herself.

Two Zubat landed on the pile of rocks. The batted their wings at the rocks, trying to find a way to get to the trapped Zubat.
The Graveler opened her eyes, but wasn't able to move. She seemed to calm down a bit, but then again, she didn't have much of a choice. She let out a small roar that wasn't much louder than a Pidgey.
Seeming like the roar was a cue of some kind, something stirred under the rocks. The Zubat was able to poke its head out, but the rest of its body was held tight by the rocks.

Jennifer took a deep breath, got up, stepped back a few spaces and then immediately sank down to her knees again. She looked up at the rock pile, noticing the Zubat and then looked at the Graveler. Did she just make a noise? The rocks started stirring, and then the Zubat that was underneath poked his head out. "Ohh...thank goodness..." She said with a sigh of relief. The Zubat is okay. Thats worry number one out of the way. Now to get the Zubat out.
'Wave and Chaos...they probably have the most muscle power on my team. And they like to compete with each other...' Jennifer thought, thinking about how her Meowkip and Sableye had formed a pretty strong rivalry. 'As for Jagger...he's strong, but he may not be able to do much right now. Wow, I really need a Pokemon Center...' She added as an after thought. "Wave, Chaos, come..." Jennifer said, still a bit out of breath. She released her Pokemon, both of which looked at her and seemed a bit concerned. "I need you both to get that Zubat out from under that pile of rocks please." Jennifer told her Pokemon, pointing at the Zubat's head that was sticking out from the pile of rocks.
Both the Pokemon nodded, but then they caught each other's glance... ...and it was on! Wave and Chaos seemed to practically race each other to see who could get the most rocks off of the Zubat.

The Zubat looked frightened as the Pokemon sent rocks tumbling off of her, not realizing they were trying to help her. She tumbled out as the pile narrowed. The Pokemon looked around cautiously, and screeched loudly if anybody got close. It was too weak to be able to survive on its own, though.
The other Zubat flew off when the Zubat tumbled out. They were frightened by the sudden movement of the trapped Zubat. The injured Zubat moved her head frantically, scared, but not sure what to do or what will happen to her.

"Good job, thank you. Return." Jennifer said calmly, returning her Meowkip and Sableye. If she didn't, they'd have started arguing about who won. She then looked up to see the scared Zubat. Jennifer wasn't sure what to do. Everything she had tried to do so far for the Zubats seemed to back fire on her. So she decided to take and even calmer, slower approach then usual.
"I-I have a potion...Your welcome to it." Jennifer told the Zubat, trying to sound soothing and reassuring. As if to prove it to the Pokemon, Jennifer got out a potion from her backpack.

The Zubat walked toward the Potion cautiously, then stepped back, not sure if it was willing to trust the trainer after what had happened. The Zubat gave a screech of warning, wanting Jennifer to step back. The Pokemon wobbled around, then fell down from exhaustion. Everything that had happened was just too much for it.

Jennifer watched quietly as the Zubat hobbled over to the Potion. She nearly flinched when the Zubat screeched a warning, but she was getting up, ready to step back like it wanted. However, she stopped when she saw the Zubat fall down from pure exhausion.
'...Ohh, poor thing...At this point, I think I know just how tired it must feel...' Jennifer thought. Jennifer inched forward and picked up the Potion. She then sprayed the Zubat with it, hopeing it wouldn't mind. But seeing as it was down like that, she couldn't see how the Zubat would resist.

The Zubat twitched. It opened its eyes at a stinging pain. The Pokemon opened its mouth to screech yet again, but only a rush of air came out of it mouth. It didn't have much energy left, and it wasn't about to waste the last of it by complaining at something that was supposed to help it. It heard about the Potions, even though not many trainers came into the cave.
The Zubat pushed itself up, then lifted its head up to Jennifer expectingly.

Jennifer smiled slightly as she finished spraying the potion on the Zubat. This would help it for sure. She then watched as the Zubat looked like it was going to screech at her again. But to Jennifer's surprise, it didn't. Instead, the Zubat stayed quiet and looked at her.
"...Zubat...do you trust me enough to be your trainer?" Jennifer asked the Pokemon softly. She got out a pokeball and threw it gently at the Zubat. Would the Zubat be caught, or not? Jennifer waited to see what would happen.

The Zubat flapped its wings in surprise. It flew away to avoid the Pokeball, then landed on it when all appeared to be safe. The Zubat cocked its head, then looked at Jennifer, and then back down at the Pokeball. It seemed to understand what was going on. The Pokemon gave one final look at the cave that surrounded it, then a red light came from the Pokeball and engulfed it.
The Pokeball shook once...twice... then it paused, but shook once more after a few moments. Ding!
Zubat was caught!

Jennifer smiled, grabbing the Pokeball and looking at it. "W-welcome to the team..." She whispered softly. She put the Pokeball away, into her backpack and looked down at herself. With a frown, she noticed how beat up she looked. Two scratches on her right arm were still bleeding, as was one on her left leg, above her boot. Curiously she noted how her boots had stayed in good condition, only marked and dirty from all the rocks and yet her gloves were torn and pretty much destroyed.
With a shrug, Jennifer peeled off her gloves to fully reveal scratched up and bruised arms and hands. Tossing the gloves aside, she put on her backpack and got up...and then realized how tired she felt once she did so. '...urgh. Oh well. I still have to get through Slumber Forest. Judging by the name, I might get some rest there...who knows?' Jennifer thought, willing herself to continue on instead of taking a rest. Normally, she would have stopped but after all that had happened in the cave...she didn't really feel safe staying.
After a moment's thought, Jennifer looked around. She had wondered where those three gems had went to. It would be great if she found them...or maybe even just one of them, to keep. Jennifer smiled slightly at the thought though. It didn't matter too much if she couldn't find the gems again, considering the fact that she had gained a Bagon and a Zubat.

The red, green, and yellow gems were side by side on the cave floor. The green gem somehow broke in two, though; it might've been from the Magnitude attack. That must be a shame for the Zubat that Jennifer just caught, because it seemed to favor the green one.
All seemed to be silent for now. The only noise were some Pokemon calling out, but they seemed to be far away.

"W-wow...after all that, I can't believe only one broke..." Jennifer said, picking up the red, yellow and even the broken green gem. '...Oh, the green one...broke in half. I think the Zubat I caught was the one who wanted the green gem...I should really do something about that...but how would I put it back together...?' Jennifer tried to think of a way, but couldn't figure one out. She put the three gems into her backpack.
"Time to get out of here..." Jennifer whispered to herself. She started to walk down the cave tunnel, hoping to find her way out of the Shard Caves soon.

Light shone through the rocks. There it was, the exit! But of course, it wouldn't be so easy getting out. The Graveler was standing by the entrance, still not too happy. She was much weaker this time, but still on her rampage. The giant Pokemon stomped down on the ground, using the Earthquake attack. The ground shook violently. Small rocks on the top of the cave came crashing down, while rocks on the cave floor were being thrown off of the ground.

When Jennifer saw the light shining, she started to walk faster. Once she got out and into the Slumber forest, she would feel safer and maybe even relax a little, if time, weather and Pokemon permitted. But then she stopped, seeing the Graveler up ahead. This was one of the reasons why Jennifer didn't feel safe staying in the cave. And it looks like she was right to feel so.
Jennifer frowned slightly at the Graveler. It didn't seem to matter much wither she chose to fight it or to reason with it, the Pokemon was determined to try and do her and those around her in. Jennifer would fight if she had to, but she would have rather not in this case. Chances were, the Graveler was a really good Pokemon and was only being clouded by unbearable anger right now.
So even when the Earthquake started pounding again, Jennifer tried to reason with it. Jennifer watched as on of the small rocks from the cave ceiling fell down next to her and stumbled a little bit as she moved back to avoid the ones that were being thrown off the ground. Still, she tried to get the Graveler's attention. "P-please, please stop. Stop, I mean no harm." Jennifer said calmly and as clearly as the tremors would allow.

The Graveler glared at Jennifer. She held the stare for what seemed like an eternity, then left. Apparently she only wanted to get the message to Jennifer that she did not want to be disturbed from her ever again. A Super Potion was lying in front of the cave exit. The sun was shining brightly, reaching out to Jennifer and almost seeming like it was encouraging her to come on out.

Jennifer stared with slightly widened, surprised, eyes as the Graveler walked away. She honestly thought she was going to get thrashed again, and could hardly believe that she was getting off so easily. Once the massive Rock type left, Jennifer found herself having to have one hand on the cave wall to keep from sinking to her knees again. But after a mere few seconds, Jennifer willed her body into stability and started for the exit.
Before Jennifer got outside, she stopped, looking down because her right foot had hit something. It was a Super Potion. Odd, what was it doing here? A trainer before her must have dropped it. She picked it up and tossed it into her backpack. Pretty soon her Pokemon would need a Pokemon Center, especially her Bagon and Zubat. But every little bit helped.
Finally, Jennifer had gotten out of the Shard Caves. It was an interesting place in there and it apparently held some very pretty jewels in there. Still...it might be awhile before Jennifer ever returned there again. Jennifer walked a little bit faster now, despite her current physical condition, onto Slumber Forest.
