Da-dump, da-dump, da-dump.
Hinote's paws thudded rhythmically on the soft earth, his trainer clutching a handfull of his fur in one hand and cradling a severely wounded Monferno in the other. He was tired, but already approaching half way through Route Two with excelent progress. Having taken only fifteen minutes to run from Magma Volcano to here, and without any wild Pokemon interrupting, he was very pleased with time. Although he was getting tired from carrying his load, he knew it was for an excelent perpose and leapt over the river of water and lava without complaining.

(( So has mine. And your spelling. XD ))
A few pokemon looked up, alarmed, as the Arcanine leapt overhead, and watched as he raced off into the distance. A few chased after him, but most gave up after thirty seconds.
{Oy. Wotcha.}
Keeping page with the Arcanine, and happily gliding along in its slipstream, a Wingull winked at Sulteron. {We don't get many trainers like you in these parts. Why such the rush?}
Another Wingull pulled up into the slipstream. It was different from the first one, though; slightly smaller, and its body was an odd colour. With blue feathers and red stripes, it was rather an oddity. Could this perhaps be one of the messangers of the legendary pokemon? {Whatya doing around here, mate?} {I was askin' this young lady here, what's she in such a rush for? Rush, rush, rush is really quite odd, don't ya say? Normally trainers like to take it nice and slow here.} {Yep, nice and slow. Wonder why she's rushing.}
The two Wingull (or one Wingull and one probably-a-Wingull) seemed quite happy to glide along in Hinote's slipstream and make the occasional comment. Maybe you should chat to them. Seem friendly enough.

Sulteron smiled back as she pulled her body up and down to go with the movements of the never tireing Arcanine beneath her. She just wished he was this strong in battle. "Long story, but I guess I have the time. See, on Route One I found this Delibird who'd lost his mother. In Magma Volcano, he found his mother. There was a group of agitated Groudon on the top of the Volcano, although I don't know why they were angry. The mother was helping Pokemon try to fight to get through, but there was this Monferno that was seriously injured. Broken a rib, and they were scared it would pierce it's lung. After my Chikorita and Dratini defeated a Groudon with help from a Buizel and Floatzel, we managed to get everyone safely across. They're heading for Aqua Village, too, but they said I would get there quicker so sent me ahead with Monferno to take to the Pokemon Hospital." she explained, the monkey in her arms nodding along with Hinote.
She knew she had seen Groudon in pictures and books on legendary Pokemon before, but she wasn't to sure if she had seen this oddly coloured Wingull in as many. She racked her brains for an answer. Hadn't they been messengers or something? Perhaps they were using her to spy? Or perhaps they had retired, or hadn't been given a job at the moment and were following her out of boredom?

One of the Wingulls nodded, bobbing up and down. {Right. I see the little fella there. He does look pretty beaten up.}
The other Wingull beat her wings a few times, diving lower to Hinote's body to keep in the slipstream. {Yup, nasty chest wound there.} She pulled back slightly. {Personally I'm happy you haven't attack us yet.} {Yeah, attacked us. That's what trainers do, isn't it? Practic'ly pugnacious, that's what is is.} {Yeah, pugnacious.} {Anyway, it's a lovely story and all that. Touching, hmm?} {Touching, absolutely.}
They were as much having a conversation between themselves as with Sulteron. As they glided along, occasionally flapping their wings to stay in the tight slipstream, the oddly-coloured Wingull opened her beak. {Y'know, if yer going to Magma city and all that... I'd aim a little to the left. There are some pretty rowdy pokemon near the river. Aim a bit away from it; it's not such a direct course, but it'll be much... smoother. Unless ya want to take the risk. You see? Being a trainer and all that.}

Hinote nodded, turning to the left. Sulteron looked at the Wingull to make sure they were keeping up. "Thanks. I might come back a little later if I need to train, but for now my only worry is Monferno. I don't have time to battle, see. We have to get to Aqua Village as quickly as possible. So, do you live here?"

One of the Wingull nodded. {I live here, but my friend? Nope, she's just visiting.} {I need a break sometimes, see.} the oddly-coloured gull explained. {I get so much work all the time. It's all do this, do that, find this, oh, could you please scout here, check here... I tell you, it's enough to drive anyone crazy. I take a break now and again.} It looked pensive for a moment. {Though... lately I haven't been recieving many assignments for some reason.}

Sulteron smiled to the Wingull. What could they mean by assignment? maybe this oddly coloured Wingull had a trainer? Or maybe it was one of these 'messengers' Sulteron had heard about? Either way, it seemed pretty tired and fed up, if a little strange. "Who gave you these assignments?" she asked.

The Wingull gave a kind of half-shrug, banking to the side as it nearly tumbled out of the slipstream. {Ah, well. It depends. Classified information, and all that.} It gave a chaste wink. {But, if you must know, Kyogre. Mainly. I blame the plumage. Them Groudon, they don't like the blue. Or the threat of the Hydro Pump, really. Did you know that once a bunch of us got together and it was a big rebellion? It was, um, a pay strike. I think. See, we aren't paid anything. But oops, probably should'nt be talking about this to ya. You heard nothing, 'kay?}
Another wink, and then her body began to sparkle. Turning white, her form began to stretch and shift. With a whirring sound, the Wingull's body became that of something else. With a snap, she unfurled large, feathered wings. A crest stretched out on top of her head; a long tail split in two, and as the sparkling white light was peeled away, the pale-blue-red Swellow gave a chittering giggle. {Assignments? Me? Nah, I'm just a Swellow.} She grinned as much as she was able to with a beak, and her partner rolled over and laughed.

Sulteron grinned back to the Swellow-Wingull and thought. The legendary's messenger seemed to know Transform, or something of the sort. And Hydro Pump, but if that attack of their as a threat to Groudon, this 'Wingull' must be fairly strong. She would not mind the Pokemon coming along with her on her journey, of course, but she supposed Wingull had a job to do.
~Wi- I mean, Swellow, we're headed for Aqua Waterfall once we stay in Aqua Village for a while. Do you want to tag along?~ Hinote asked before she could.

The now Swellow cocked her head at Sulteron's question. ~Me? Well I wouldn't want my boss to miss me and all that. I got some real important things to do, y'know. But I've had some free time quite lately. Maybe I'll join you for a while. I mean, a Swellow's got nothing important to do, right?~
The other Wingull looked at the messenger and squawked in surprised, ~You're not really thinking of going! Are you?~
The Swellow spread her wings to full length and said, ~Maybe, maybe not. But if you're not coming with me, I'm not coming with you, trainer. Got that?~

Sulteron smiled. She didn't quite understand what Swellow/Wingull/Messenger was meaning by 'If you're not coming with me, I'm not coming with you, trainer'. She assumed it meant the messenger either wanted the actual Wingull- or at least, the one who hadn't turned into anything else yet- to come too, or didn't want Sulteron to go elsewhere. The Espeon 'morph shrugged, which is hard to do while gripping an Arcanine's shoulders. "I'm willing to do whatever you want, but I have to get Monferno to a Pokemon Center, fight in the Gym, and I'll probably stop by at the Daycare for a few minutes. Just letting you know, I think it's important to mention that." she nodded, glancing ahead before looking back at Swellow; Aqua Village was in sight.

The messenger grinned. {Well, if that's all yer doing, then sure, I'll come along. Sounds like it might be fun.} {You sure that's a good idea?}[b/] the other Wingull chimed in, blinking anxiously. {'Cause, y'know, your boss might get angry, right?} The 'Swellow' sighed, flipping over onto her back and, oddly, flying upside-down. {I need a break, man! Seriously, my day-to-day life is basically do this, do that, fetch this, fetch that, fetch this, fetch that... it's enough to drive anyone crazy.} {Think you said that already.} {Said it already? Have I really? A-whoops. Still, ya get my drift.} Giggling, she righted herself. {Yeah, I'd love to tag along. I mean, if it's, like, okay with you.}

Sulteron grinned. "That's brilliant! Come on, Hinote, we're almost there..." she spoke the last bit comfortingly to the great golden Arcanine she was riding. He nodded, and his paws thudded on the ground even more often as he ran faster, seeking the Pokemon Center in Aqua Village. He was almost there... he could see the buildings... smell the smells of people... come on, he was almost there...
Then the wolf crossed the boundry between Route Two and Aqua Village, heading immedietly to the Pokemon Center. Monferno was still in Sulteron's arms, but they would make it in time. They would!
To be continued...

I might not, I already have plenty of Fire and Water types so I might just leave my Pokemon at the Daycare for the training part. Anywho, I maded a new thread.
